notify, inform

"Notify"는 타동사인데 목적어는 들을 수 있는 person(listener)같은 명사 여야됩니다

OK:

"He notified her of his appointment."


NOT OK:

"He notified his appointment." (목적어는 안 맞아요)
"He notified of his appointment." (목적어 없어서요)
"He notified his appointment to her." (목적어는 안 맞아요)

"inform"이랑 비슷합니다.

일부의 경우에 "announce", "indicate" 쓰는게 권장합니다.
